YOU are here… WE ARE DOING THIS THING. Welcome.

Before you read on, let this be an invitation to soften.

There is nothing here to complete, nothing to get right.

You may move through this slowly, return to it in pieces, or simply let one line land and be enough for today.

This page is meant to meet you where you are — not ask you to be anywhere else.

Let’s begin with a little side note…

Before even sending the first Love Notes package, I realized this journey is bigger than any one envelope can hold. There’s so much I feel guided to share, so many layers and reflections that couldn’t possibly fit inside 5x7.

This page is your companion — a little overflow space to expand on what’s in the envelope, to add context, inspiration, and a deeper look at the intention behind each month’s theme. Think of it as extra room to breathe, reflect, and fully receive this self-reflection journey.

Perhaps this beautiful thing that is happening is a quiet little movement to embrace all the things that make us extraordinary feminine beings. To remember the things forgotten.

No matter what this is, I am so, so over the moon that you are here. First stop on this journey: Bloom.

Bloom

/blo͞om/ noun · verb

Bloom is the sacred remembering of who you have always been, the courage to take up your space, and the quiet unfolding of your own power, presence, and truth.

Why Bloom

The story of Bloom.

This summer, a dear friend who owns a wedding venue asked me to tend her rose garden. I had no experience, no plan—but I said yes. What began as a simple task became a space for reflection, pause, and unexpected growth.

At the time, business was slowing down, the world felt heavy, and I was pulled into stillness—forced to stop and really think. As a photographer who spends her days holding space for women to see themselves, I realized I had been hiding behind the camera, keeping myself small, and not fully claiming my own power.

In that garden, I asked myself the questions I’d been avoiding: If money were no object, what would I do with my life? What am I afraid of? What do I need to let go of? As I cared for the roses, I realized that Bloom isn’t just about flowers—it’s about claiming your presence, stepping into your own power, and honoring who you truly are.

I stepped in front of the camera instead of hiding behind it. I created a small sacred space for myself. I remembered how much I love expressing myself through my wardrobe and art, how much courage it takes to say no, and how much power lives in the small choices we make. Slowly, little by little, change began to unfold.

Bloom is reflection. Bloom is courage. Bloom is stepping fully into yourself. It can happen anytime, in any season, when you choose to say yes to yourself. Perhaps it has already begun for you. Perhaps it is unfolding now—or still to come. Wherever you are, the universe has placed you exactly where you need to be. It is ready for you to Bloom.

BLOOM

Imagery of the flowers that gave me pause… that, in a strange way, grounded me. They became my friends of nature, elevating me in ways I can’t fully describe—only to say in a way that only Mother Nature can. A tribute to the great fondness I have for their rhythm… showing me that things take time, that each petal differs, that some things just need to fall away. That we are art. The gentleness of feeling connected. The wisdom that presented itself to me in its presence. To the gift of tending them this season… but maybe, truthfully, they were tending to me.

A little photo challenge: Let this inspire a photo moment—a way to document something that has presently shifted or lifted you. It can be anything: a lake view, a walk in nature, a beautifully curated closet, your stove top because cooking is your jam. The thing that makes you pause and recognize it as a catalyst for your Bloom.

Place this image in your journal. Give it thanks. Share what it is—whatever speaks to you. And if you feel called, share it wherever you feel most at home socially… and if you do, please tag me. I want to cheer you on.

Coloring Card

Remember when we were little people… little girls who could get completely lost in coloring? A fresh page. A handful of crayons. No rules, no expectations. Just color and feeling and time stretching in the sweetest way.

This is your return to that.

A moment of grounding.

A moment of quiet creativity—whatever that looks like for you now.

Spread out crayons, markers, colored pencils… whatever your creative vice may be. Let your hands move. Let your mind soften. Let yourself drift into that gentle, expressive space where there is nothing to achieve, just something to feel.

When you’re done, gift it. Use it as a bookmark

Or tuck it into your creative journal.

She is blooming.

A reminder that we bloom in the stillness—when we slow down, quiet down, and just listen.

Seeds of Love: Pink Climbing Roses.

A gift... pink climbing rose garden of your own—

a living reminder that you are always blooming.

Always growing.

Always becoming.

These little seeds carry the same quiet magic the garden offered me: patience, rhythm, and the promise that beauty unfolds in its own time. And like us, they thrive with a little care, a little tending, and a little faith.

To give them the best start, place the packet in your refrigerator until early Spring.

They love a good winter’s rest—this “chilling” mimics nature and helps them wake up strong and ready to grow.

When Spring arrives, here’s how to plant your roses:

1. Soak the seeds.

Place them in a small bowl of water for about 24 hours to soften and wake them.

2. Prepare your soil.

Choose a spot with good sunlight—at least 6 hours a day.

Roses love rich, well-draining soil. If you can, mix in compost or fresh potting soil to nourish them.

3. Plant with intention.

Make small indentations in the soil about ¼ inch deep.

Place one seed in each, cover lightly, and water gently.

4. Keep the soil moist.

Not drenched—just consistently damp as they establish.

5. Be patient.

Climbing roses take their time. They may sprout in a few weeks… or a bit longer.

Their growth is steady and meaningful, just like yours.

6. Give them something to reach toward.

Once they begin to grow, guide them up a trellis, a fence, or anything sturdy.

They love to climb—to rise.

In time, you’ll see the first leaves, then vines, then blooms… small signs of your own unfolding reflected right back at you. A tender reminder that blooming isn’t a moment. It’s a journey.

Selfie Prompt: Seeing Yourself Bloom

An invitation to see yourself. Truly!

This month, I want to invite you into something tender, brave, and surprisingly transformative.

For over ten years, I’ve curated the most beautiful wardrobe for the women I photograph… and yet not once did I wear a single thing myself. I never stepped in front of the camera. Not really. Not fully. It was always for others. Always them.

Then the garden happened.

Something shifted.

It whispered, “It’s your turn.”

And for the first time, I realized I needed to see myself.

So I gathered my courage.

I chose a dress.

I stood in the roses — curves, white hair, all of it — and let my sons photograph me. They smiled so proudly behind the camera that I could feel their love holding me up.

And in that moment, something old fell away.

The old shame.

The old stories.

The old “not enough.”

The echoes of someone else’s insecurities that had once been placed on me.

I dropped them all.

What replaced them surprised me:

I saw a goddess.

A queen.

A woman beginning again, claiming her presence with tenderness and fire.

And it felt incredible.

So this month, I’m inviting you to experience a moment like that — in your own way.

YOUR Prompt

Take one photograph of yourself that honors the woman you are right now.

It doesn’t have to be fancy.

It doesn’t need makeup or a perfect angle.

It can be a quiet moment in your bedroom, wrapped in a blanket…

a soft morning light in your kitchen…

a dress you haven’t worn in years…

a simple expression that says, “I’m here. I matter. I am blooming.”

This isn’t vanity.

This is documentation.

This is witness.

This is self-love in motion.

Place the image in your journal.

Write one sentence — just one — about what you see in yourself today.

If you feel called to share it publicly, I would love to cheer you on.

Tag me so I can hold that moment with you.

This is your month to bloom.

And I promise — you are even more magnificent than you realize.

Love Note Challenge

A Love Note to Future YOU

Inside your Love Notes to the Feminine package is a single sheet of blank paper — the kind of paper that practically begs you to write on it. It has that energy, that softness, that quiet invitation.

I wanted you to have something beautiful to inspire you to write a love note to yourself.

To YOU.

Full-on you.

Write a letter to your future self. I know it may sound simple, but trust me — it’s powerful.

Tell her all the ways you have bloomed.

What it took courage to step into.

What you finally broke free from.

What your life feels like in this moment.

Write anything that would make your future self glow with pride — that you arrived, or that you returned. That a dream you once thought impossible found its way to you. That you honored yourself. That you kept going. That you softened. That you rose.

When you’re done, place it in an envelope.

Give it to someone who will mail it to you in a year… or two… or maybe sooner.

Or hide it somewhere you’ll stumble upon it exactly when you’re meant to.

Just write it.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. Scratch out words. Make a mess. Ramble.

Who cares.

Write it anyway.

Seal it anyway.

Because your future you — oh, she will be delighted by what unfolds between the moment you write it and the moment you open it. She will see the magic you couldn’t yet see. She will marvel at how far you’ve come.

This is your becoming.

This is your returning.

This is your bloom.

A closing note of LOVE & Gratitude.

You are here… we are here. Each of us as individuals, and for some, already as a quiet collective. Some of you came to support me, some of you felt an instant connection to what Love Notes to the Feminine whispered to you. Whatever your reason, you showed up. One by one, from all over the country, you stepped forward… more than I ever imagined.

This started as a small seed I’ve carried for a long time, unsure how it would grow. In these past few months, as I finally said yes to myself and pushed past my own fears, this little idea has blossomed into something bigger than I ever expected. Something more than just a fine art print or a few words on a page. It has become a space for reflection, remembrance, and self-empowerment. A space to notice your own extraordinary presence, your quiet power, the ways you return to yourself again and again.

So here we are. Maybe this is the start of a movement — a movement to honor ourselves first, to embrace who we truly are, so that in time, we can lift others along the way. If you feel called to share anything — a selfie, a love letter, a reflection — please do. I will too. It will be scary, but I will. Because part of this journey is seeing and celebrating ourselves fully.

My hope is that this space inspires moments to pause, notice the quiet power within, and celebrate your own bloom, however it shows up for you.

I am honored, ecstatic, and endlessly grateful that you are here. Thank you for stepping into this beginning with me.

With love,

Shira
